Convention Shock? APC Reveals Power-Sharing Formula For 2027 Elections
By Victor Idajili

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it will retain its current zoning arrangement for National Working Committee (NWC) positions ahead of its scheduled 2026 National Convention.
The decision was contained in a statement issued on Monday and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, the move is intended to provide clear guidance for aspirants and ensure stability within the party as it prepares for upcoming internal elections.
The APC clarified that the existing zoning structure, as outlined in the published 2026 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses, National Convention, and related activities, remains in force.
The party therefore urged all individuals interested in contesting for national positions to comply with the arrangement when obtaining and submitting Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.
It further emphasized that aspirants must strictly follow the established zoning framework for the National Convention.
