Alia Assigns Portfolios To 7 New Commissioners, Begins Statewide Tour

Benue State governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has assigned portfolios to seven newly sworn-in Commissioners, with a directive to commence work immediately and deliver tangible results to the people.
Governor Alia in a statement yesterday by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Solomon Iorpev announced the deployments during the State Executive Council meeting held at Government House after the inauguration.
According to the statement, Mrs Elizabeth Onma is in charge of Ministry of Special Duties and Related Matters, Kuma Aii Yenge, deployed to the Ministry of Works, Roy Ashirga,Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
Others are; Angwa Egbe — Ministry of Science and Technology, with a mandate to also establish the Ministry of Natural Resources, Amo Ankwa II— Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Nick Eworo — Ministry of Youths, Sports and Creativity and Solomon Iorpev — Ministry of Information and Orientation .
He charged the appointees to bring diligence, transparency and urgency to their duties, stressing that the assignments take immediate effect.
Meanwhile, Governor Alia, also on Monday, commenced the second phase of his Thank-You Tour across the 11 Federal Constituencies of Benue State.
According to Alia,the tour is aimed at expressing appreciation to APC party faithful, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, government appointees and other critical stakeholders for their support to his administration since assumption of office.
“The tour is designed to convey His Excellency’s profound appreciation to APC party faithful, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, Government appointees and other critical stakeholders across the State for their unwavering support and commitment to his administration,” the statement said.
The Governor invited all stakeholders and members of the public to join in receiving him and participating in the engagement across the constituencies.
