The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has recovered N1.23 trillion between October 2023 and July 2026 under the leadership of its Chairman, Mr Ola Olukoyede.
The Commission disclosed this in a performance update posted on its official X handle on Thursday.
According to the EFCC, it received 49,673 petitions within the 34-month period from October 1, 2023 to July 31, 2026, investigated 39,615 cases, filed 14,476 cases in court and secured 10,872 convictions.
“Petitions are the entry point for EFCC action. From these, 39,615 cases were investigated. 14,476 cases were filed in court. And those investigations led to 10,872 convictions,” the anti-graft agency stated.
The Commission said the figures reflect its sustained drive against financial crimes, including advance fee fraud, cybercrime, money laundering, bank fraud and economic governance fraud.
It noted that each of the figures represents painstaking investigation and recovery of looted public funds.
“And behind every number is a case investigated, a financial trail uncovered, and public resources recovered to keep pushing the fight against economic and financial crimes forward,” it said.
The EFCC said it would not relent in its mandate to combat economic and financial crimes across the country.
