Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has named the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Jerry Adams, as his deputy for the 2027 governorship election.
In a statement signed by the governor on Tuesday, Sani said the choice was part of his administration’s push for a more united, peaceful and inclusive Kaduna.
“Today, we take another decisive step in our collective journey towards building a more united, peaceful and inclusive Kaduna State,” he said.
The governor described the nomination as more than just picking a deputy. According to him, it reflects the core values of inclusion, justice, fairness and equity that have guided his government since May 29, 2023.
Sani noted that Kaduna’s diversity in religion, ethnicity and culture remains one of its greatest assets, and that sustainable development can only come when governance is inclusive and opportunities are open to all.
He said his administration has ensured projects and interventions reach all 23 local government areas, with investments in roads, schools, healthcare, water, agriculture, rural development and social protection. The guiding principle, he added, is that “no community should be left behind.”
The governor also highlighted efforts to strengthen peace-building through partnerships with traditional rulers, religious leaders, women and youth groups. He said improved security has allowed many farmers to return to their farms, businesses to expand, and investors to regain confidence.
On Adams, Sani said his record at KADIRS speaks for itself. Under his leadership, the state’s internally generated revenue has grown through innovation, transparency and professionalism, providing more funds for education, healthcare, infrastructure and agriculture.
He described Adams as “a man of integrity, humility and quiet strength” who has shown consistent commitment to peace, reconciliation and inclusive governance.
“His emergence reflects our determination to ensure that merit, competence and character remain the defining criteria for leadership,” the governor stated.
Sani urged Kaduna residents to look beyond religion, ethnicity or region in assessing the nomination, and to support a broader vision of a state where every citizen feels a sense of belonging and has equal opportunity to thrive.
He expressed confidence that, with the foundation laid in the last three years, the administration will continue to deliver a more secure, just and prosperous Kaduna.
