RMAFC Inaugurates Committee For China Oil and Gas Investment Forum

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has inaugurated a Planning Committee for the forthcoming Oil and Gas Investment Forum slated to hold in China later this year.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Head of Information and Public Relations Unit of the Commission, Maryam Umar Yusuf.

The committee was inaugurated at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja at a meeting chaired by the RMAFC Chairman, Dr Mohammed Bello Shehu, who was represented by the Chairman of the Investment Monitoring Committee and Federal Commissioner representing Anambra State, Hon. Ekene Enefe.

Dr Shehu stressed the need for strategic planning, effective coordination and institutional collaboration to ensure a successful outing.

He said the forum will provide a credible platform to showcase Nigeria’s investment opportunities in the oil and gas value chain and attract meaningful investments into the country.

He charged the committee to develop a comprehensive framework for the event, identify priority investment opportunities, coordinate stakeholders’ participation and facilitate strategic engagements with prospective investors and partners in China.

According to the statement, the forum will feature business-to-business engagements, investment matchmaking, technical presentations and policy dialogue aimed at fostering sustainable partnerships and deepening Nigeria-China cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

The Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to work with relevant institutions and stakeholders, within its constitutional mandate, to support initiatives that boost investment, enhance revenue generation and promote sustainable economic development.

Members of the Planning Committee include representatives of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority, Nigeria-China Business Council, the Director of Gas and Investment Department, RMAFC, and other staff of the Department.

Also present at the inauguration were the Federal Commissioner representing Kogi State, Hon. Abdulaziz Idris King, and other members of the Investment Monitoring Committee.
