FUHSO Unveils Maiden NYSC Mobilisation List
By Victor Idajili

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) has recorded another historic milestone with the presentation of its first-ever National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation list.
According to a statement issued by Mrs Sani Joy and Mrs Blessing Akor of the Information, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, the list was presented on Monday, September 21, 2026, to the Registrar, Mr Michael Okoko Ogiji, by the Acting Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr Peter Adikwu.
The maiden list comprises graduates of the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions from the Faculty of Science.
Presenting the list, Dr Adikwu said the development is a significant milestone in the history of the young university. He congratulated the Registrar and the entire university community.
In his response, Mr Ogiji described the presentation as a turning point and laudable achievement for FUHSO. He assured that the list would be forwarded to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Aba Uba, for onward presentation to the Governing Council.
Ogiji further disclosed that certificates for the affected graduates will be ready for issuance during the university’s maiden convocation ceremony coming up later this year.
With this, FUHSO graduates will for the first time since the establishment of the university in Benue State participate in the compulsory one-year national service — a testament to the institution’s steady growth under Prof. Uba’s leadership.
The ceremony was witnessed by staff of the Students’ Affairs Division, including the Students’ Affairs Officer, Mr Patrick Hoomsuk; Data Entry Officer, Mr Alechenu Awodi; and Secretary, Mrs Celestina Emenyonu.
